Description

A European man, ?Joe Stewart, following a local guide who is also carrying Stewart’s bag. The two men are passing through a village plaza. The village is neat and tidy and is located on a ridge-top surrounded by a handful of breadfruit trees. Stewart wears heavy walking boots, knee-high green socks and dark green shorts, a white shirt and a wide-brimmed hat. He carries a ?water bottle in his belt. Inscriptions on the slide show that this photograph was taken in Akrani village. If there is pronunciation problems, then the same village could also be Wakrani village, located to the east of Amanab, West Sepik (Sandaun) Province. [Andrew Moutu 24/02/04]
