Description

Three stone adzes used in cutting trees and logs, laid out on the earth of the new settlement of Imonda on the Rocks. Each handle is fastened with cane vine to hold the adze. The handle is shaped from an inverted Y shaped branch taken from a tree and then made to accommodate the adze. Possibly taken in the village near Imonda rocks, West Sepik (Sandaun) Province [Andrew Moutu 24/02/04].
