Description
A close-up view of a woman pulping the pit from the sago palm. She uses an adze-like tool, previously made from sharp stones such as obsidians. Such stones are now replaced with steel pipes which are inserted into one end of the adze and fastened together with cane. She swings the adze into the pit and produces a powder-like substance [Andrew Moutu 20/02/04].
