Description

A ceremonial stool at a road side shrine in Benin. The stool is placed inside the shrine, and consists of a rounded saucer like top, entwined base with decorative designs. Behind the shrine is an altar that is decorated with cowerie shells. On the raised platform are ceremonial objects consisting of pots and other items. In the background is a window with raffia fronds in the front.
