P.60836.HUT to P.60855.HUT were found inside the envelope now numbered C292/1/. This came from C292/ which was found inside the Wooden Drawer IV.

The photographs may have been given to Hutton by L.K.Ananthakrishna Iyer and were taken during his ethnographic survey of the Cochin State. Hutton, who became the Census Comissionaer of India in 1930, acquired a large collection of such photographs.
