Description
Photomechanical reproduction of Illustrations of an assortment of artefacts including a flint axe head, small bone scoop, clay? sculpture of a woman and 2 x bone fishing hooks. [GB 11/07/2000]
The figurine on the bottom left is a woman carved in hippopotamus ivory excavated at el-Badari emetery, Upper Eygpt, and dates to around 5000 BC. The object is held at the British Museum, reference AES EA 59648. [JD 16/9/2009]

The print was found in an envelope now numbered C177/1/. It was found in a drawer now numbered C177/ by the transcriber.
Place: The Place field was previously recorded as being “Europe”, but the print is annotated as being ‘Nile Valley’, and ‘British Museum’. The Place field has been amended accordingly. [JD 16/9/2009]
