Description

Documentary photography of a relic of Kibuka, the War-god of Uganda, consisting of an egg-shaped leather case or neck ornament, decorated with cowrie shells and attached leather strap in two parts with three rings of cowrie shells of one side and strings of the oldest known kind of glass beads attached to other strap.
The Mulongo was transferred to the Uganda Museum, Kampala, 1962. [JD 24/05/2024]

P.57274.RDG to P.57284.RDG were found in C274/3/ which came from C274/. The latter was kept in Wooden Drawer VI.

Place: Record previously recorded as “Africa” but research suggests that it is from Uganda (See Images P.44840.RDG, P.44781.RDG and P.44816.RDG) and the record has been amended accordingly. [Jocelyne Dudding 6/12/2006]
