Studio full-length profile portrait of a Kamba man posed with a bow and arrow, and carrying a quiver on his back. The man wears a wrap-around cloth skirt and has a feather hair ornament, and metal ring and chain ear, neck, chest, arm, wrist, leg, and ankle ornaments. The studio backdrop is painted with a forest scene.

Place: Entry previously record ‘Kamba’ as place but research shows that the term applies to a cultural group. The two fields have been amended accordingly. [JD 4/10/2006]

Group: The Kamba (Mukamba in singular Akamba in the plural) are a Bantu ethnic group who live in South central, Machakos and Kitui districts, Eastern Province. Some in Kwale District, Coast Province. [Source: Ethnologue Online, 15th Edition, JD 4/10/2006]
