Description

An older Upoto woman making a cane basket while sitting on the ground under the eaves of a thatch building. On the ground beside the woman is a pottery bowl, (possibly of water for dampen the cane to make it more pliable?) and a pile of dark pebbles?. Wall of thatched hut in the background.

Physical Condition: Woman’s face blurred due to slow shutter speed. [JD 15/6/2007]
