Description

Family portrait of a ‘Bodumbala’ man, woman, child, and infant, sitting on a wooden bench in a village clearing. The man, woman, and older child have extensive facial cicatrisation. The man wears a leopard? skin and feather headdress, neck ornaments of two rows of beads and a cord strung with pipes?, metal ring wrist and ankle ornaments, and has a large kuba knife in a leather sheath with the strap worn across the torso. The woman and children wear strands of beads as neck ornaments and metal rings on their wrists and ankles. Thatched huts and vegetation are in the background.
