P.56529.RDG to P.56576.RDG were found in the envelope now numbered C263/3/3/ which was inside C263/3/, or the third drawer of the entire green cabinet formerly numbered as batch 149, and now re-numbered C263/.
The archive references indicate letters, notes and proof pages which were found inside the envelope C263/3/3/.
Place: Entry previously recorded place as “?Europe” but research shows that the object is from the Bering Strait and held at the National Museum of Canada, Ottawa. The record has been amended accordingly. [JD 16/10/2006]
Related Object: The original harpoon head is held at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, reference IX-F 8687, with the following information:
"Caption: Birnirk culture
Additional Information: Harpoon heads seem to show more stylistic change than any other tool or weapon in the Arctic. Diamond Jenness's collection of harpoon heads illustrates stylistic changes which span almost two thousand years of Inuit cultural history."
