Description

Two Egyptian men operating a shadouf (traditionally irrigation system) consisting of two leather? buckets attached to counterweighted wooden booms supported by wood and adobe supports. The buckets are dipped into the water and then swing round for emptying in field or water trench. The walls of the water pit are protected by palm leaf? matting. [JD 10/10/2006]
