Description

Posed studio portrait of a Moorish woman probably Jebala?, carrying a sleeping infant in a sling over the shoulder and supported on the hip. The woman, whose name is not recorded wears a wide straw hat, a knee-length woven head scarf, woven tunic with striped woven wrap around skirt and leather belt. The studio backdrop is painted with a rocky coast and sea scene, and the studio is decorated with rocks.
