Description

Studio seated portrait of a man with a beard looking to the right. He has many layers of agal wrapped round his forehead, with three shells (one cockle shell) attached on the right hand side.
He is wearing an ‘isawiyya (simple tunic tunic made from striped wool) which has a large head hole, and is made from striped wool on the shoulders and dark wool on the chest. The sleeves of this reach to his elbows. Underneath this he is wearing a pale tunic with long sleeves. The man is holding a long wooden pole in his right hand.
