Description
Three-quarter length seated portrait of a Berber man with a moustache and a goatee and wearing traditional dress. He is sitting facing the photographer, but is looking to his right.
The man wears a white djellaba with the hood pulled over his head and wrapped around with agal (black cord) many times, covering all of the top of his head. His djellaba is placed over his left shoulder, showing his white fukiyya (shirt worn under the djellaba). Over all he is wearing a dark coloured burnus (Berber hooded cape), which is only partially visible on the left side due to the position of his djellaba. The burnus has light coloured fringing on its topmost side on the right, and is decorated with several large tassels in the middle part.
He also appears to be wearing a knotted tassel of light coloured flower patterned cloth, but where this is coming from and what it is attached to is obscured by the rest of his clothing.
