Biographical Information: Father Jean-Marie Neyret was born in Lyons, France, on 18 July 1904. He went to the Pacific as a Marist missionary in 1931 and has served in Fiji, the Solomons and New Caledonia. A two-volume study by him entitled Pirogues Ocieaniennes was published in Paris in 1976-77. The New South Wales State Library holds archives of Neyret.
