Publication: This image was used as Plate XXII, Figure 2 in C.W. Phillips 1935a, with the caption: "View of the end of the upper trench at the causeway. The men are in the other end of the ditch coming round the small end of the barrow. The slight depression visible between the bucket and the edge of the ditch in the foreground is one of the small pre barrow ditches". See Bibliography.

Paul Ashbee ordered and catalogued these lantern slides in 1998. This lantern slide was kept in container marked C40/. by the cataloguer. The numbering system referred to in the "Other no’s" field was given by Ashbee, and his description is transcribed in the "Description" field.
