Other Information

The brown paper envelope, where this photograph comes from, has been marked C2/ by the cataloguer. This was formerly in the wooden drawer labelled IV.

The label on the envelope containing the prints mention these as being found together with photos taken by E.H. Man. However, on the basis of a letter addressed to T.A.G Strickland and a print bearing his name, it has been presumed that these were personal and travel photographs taken by, or belonged to Strickland, and not Man.

The negatives with the numbers 9.3; 9.4 and 9.5 are missing.

Format: This photograph was previously recorded as “Negative: Colour Duffay”, but the format is a Colour Duffay Transparency. The accession number and record has been amended accoringly. [Jocelyne Dudding, 8/11/2007]
The small envelope mentions 9 negatives but only found five were found, numbered: 1.2; 3; 4; 6 and 7. The others are missing.

This catalogue record has been updated with the support of the Getty Grant Program One. [Alex Nadin, 24/3/2003]
