Other Information

This negative was kept in a film storage album labelled “IBIBIO & OKWU WALL” by G. I. Jones, and numbered “C12/” by the cataloguer.

This image is one of a series of four photographs of the wall paintings around the outside of a building with a large corrugated iron roof. It is painted in a slightly different style than the work of the artist who painted the Ekpe (Egbo) society house in Umuajatta (Olokoro) village, and the ‘Mbaja’ wall on two sides of their market and public meeting place in Okwu village.

This catalogue record has been updated with the support of the Getty Grant Program Two. [Alicia Fentiman 9/4/2008]
