Three-quarter length portrait of two women standing on grass in front of a small tree. The woman on the left wears a sarong with a floral pattern, a necklace and a white blouse with wide sleeves. Beside her, the other woman wears a plain sarong, loose white blouse with lace at the hem and cuffs and a sash over her right shoulder. She is carrying a cloth in her right hand. [EB 01/02/2023]

The negative was found loose in Box C252/.

Named Person: Pandak was the son of Dahabok, a negrito with whom Grübauer had dealings in connection with obtaining skeletal material (Pagan Races Vol 1, p. 581). Speaking of Pandak in his book The Negritos of Malaya Peninsula published in 1937, Evans wrote: “... I sent a word to Pandak and Suli (two of the Lanoh negritos of Lenggong in Upper Perak whom I have known for many years) that a European was coming to see them and that they should treat him as they did me. The answer came back, however, that they did not wish to see anybody but Tuan Evans - flattering to me, but not so pleasing for the European visitor” (page 38).
