Place: The Place field was previously recorded as being “Asia; ?Europe”, but Pithecanthropus erectus is commonly known as Java Man as the first remains were found from the banks of the Solo River, Trini, Java by Eugene Dubois 1891. The Place field has been amended accordingly. [JD 24/6/2009]
