Related Archive: In Kathleen Haddon's unpublished manuscript 'An English Girl in New Guinea', 1914, pp.116 - 117 for Thursday 5th ?– Friday 6th ? November, is the following extract:
"With the sun at our backs next morning we were able to make the entrance through the reef to Aroma, but as the chief village was just opposite the entrance and the sea was rolling in, we found it too rough to make a landing there. Accordingly we ran westwards inside the reef, and anchored off the village of Parama [sic? Paramana], the most westerly of the Aroma villages. The houses, which are placed just behind the beach within a stockade ..." [JD 11/6/2014]
