Related Archive: In Kathleen Haddon's unpublished manuscript 'An English Girl in New Guinea', 1914, p.101 is the following extract:
“Delena has for some time been a London Missionary Station, and we found there Mr Dauncey, the Secretary of the Papuan branch. There is a fair-sized native village along the beach, and plenty of canoes to examine. Some of them were carved, and we took rubbings of the designs to the intense amusement and interest of the children ..." [JD 22/10/2014]

Photographer: This print is attributed to Kathleen Haddon, but the glass plate format and negative reference, including the black ink used, is in accord with Haddon's 1898 Expedition. The record has been amended accordingly. [JD 22/10/2014]
