Eleven volumes of the ‘Memoirs of the American Museum of Natural History, Jesup North Pacific Expedition’, edited by Franz Boas, were published between 1898 and 1930. See reference in Description. Research was done by, among others, Livingston Farrand. Farrand was from Columbia University and wrote on the traditions of the Chilcotin and Quinault and on the basketry designs of several Salish groups. See Kendall.L et al. 1997: 8; 10.
