Collection of 15 photographs showing instances of curing illnesses by various descriptions of magical treatment, as practices among the Swedish population in certain parishes of Ostrobothnia, Finland. The photographs form part of certain large ethnological collections made by Mr. Walter W. Forsblom, Mag. Phil., Helsingfors, and the originals are in the Folk-Lore archives of the Swedish Society of Literature in Helsingfors. In connection with each of the photographs mentioned, the reference given is to Mr. Forsblom’s book “Magisk Folkmedicin” in “Finlands Svenska Folkdiktning”, VII, Vol. 5, where details regarding the various photographs as well as their methods of treatment are given.
