Description
On Catalogue Card: "“Pygmy” of the Kalahari desert, 4 ft. 5 in. Round his ankles are dried sheaths of wild beans and holding wildebeeste’s [sic wildebeest’s] tail switch. ?Right hand mutilated?. Amputation commonly done in infancy when child sickly, partly for dysentery. Right hand for male, left for female, portion usually, of little of fourth finger removed. 1936" [typed text, circa 1935]
