On Catalogue Card: Three women, N. E. Congo, ? Lendu.

Full length portrait of three, possibly Lendu?, woman, with the woman on the right standing facing the right, the central woman facing the camera, and the woman on the left, facing left. All three women have braided hair, and are wearing cloth and bead waist bands with leaf aprons and bustles. They wear bead and metal neck and wrist ornaments.
Behind them are a probably white colonial officer?, whose image has been scratched out on the negative in attempts to remove him from the photograph. On his left is a man wearing a fez and white tunic.
In the background is a pile of firewood, and a thatch round house. [JD 15/08/2024]
