On Catalogue Card: “Round house, Mer.”
A thatch beehive house belonging to Boa of Ulag on a cleared sandy area. A mat is hanging in the sun on the side of the house. Part of another house can be seen on the left. Boa had moved to Darnley by 1898. [Jude Philp 17/3/1999, updated JD 25/5/2011]

Place: This house belonged to Boa of Ulag who had moved to Darnley by 1898. (Wilkin 1898 notebook). [Jude Philp 17/3/1999]
Publication: Printed in the Reports IV: Plate XX fig.3 with the caption “Round house, Ulag, Mer (p.101)”. Wilkin studied house construction in Torres Strait but died before the Reports were printed, his work was posthumously edited by Haddon and appears in Volume IV. [Jude Philp 17/3/1999]
