This Roman lamp is tentatively listed as being from the Philip Whiteway Collection, although it is not clear how that was established given it does not have a typical Whiteway Collection label. Therefore this attribution should be taken with a grain of salt. If it is a Whiteway lamp, then the Place is most likely Egypt as that is where most of his collection came from.
