Description

Darning block consisting of 1) rectangular wooden box with drawer on four legs, 2) horn-shaped wooden support which attaches to circular hole on top of the box, secured by 3) a wooden peg. The support is decorated with a band of carved material resembling elephant ivory at the tapering end. 4) A wood and leather darning cushion in mushroom shape had been attached to the support with a dowel, now missing.
