Description
Three buff-slipped sherds, irregularly shaped, with a slightly curved cross-section; fabric feel is soapy; possibly from Matsaki Polychrome vessels.
(I): broadly pentagonal; surface is buff-slipped, possibly burnished; light coloured accretions throughout; white core.
(II): broadly four-sided; interior surface is burnished buff-slipped with applied brown paint in linear motifs; exterior surface has a dark grey hue; buff core.
(III): broadly triangular; grey accretions throughout; surface is possibly burnished buff-slipped; interior surface possibly has applied brown and white paint; grey core.

When the Kechib:wa collection was packed for storage in c 1986 the pottery was assessed by museum staff and boxed according to type. These sherds were packed with Matsaki Polychrome material, which has now been added to the Description field.

This unmarked sherd was found bagged with Z 43088 J and Z 43474 E, the former coming from 'General Digging' and the latter from 'Room 54, Upper Level', although this may not be related to either. It has therefore been assigned a TEMP number.
