Context (Acquisition Details)
Acquired in 1962 as part of an exchange with the University of California, Berkeley Museum of Anthropology (now the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology); MAA sent material from Papua New Guinea (Hearst Museum nos. 11-37061 to 11-37086). See archive (Doc.576) for details.
Event Date 1962

Context (Amendments / updates)
The exchange list (Doc.576) gave the collection date as 1937, but this is likely to be a typo. Although the Hearst Museum catalogue record for L-15749 does not give the collection date (apart from before 1942), this typo has been regularly found in the exchange list for the Johnson Mound and for those listed as being collected by Henry Gibbs, etc. the collection date has been 1931. This has been incorporated into the Field Collection information.
