One copy of typed letter from John Seago, member of the Society of Archer Antiquaries Feb. 1999, to Anita Herle (then curator of America and Oceania), reads, '[...] these were contained in a quiver, which I believe was made as part of a 'Rimankyu' set , such a set would have originally contained a set of much smaller arrows, (shorter), together with a short bow, [...] made of baleen, (whalebone). Such sets were designed to be carried in a palanquin, in much the same way travellers used to carry cased sets of traveling pistols in carriages in Europe)
