Rim sherd, possibly from a shallow bowl, with everted squared rim and carination, decorated with black slip and band of incised curvilinear design on exterior surface. Material brown in colour with very dark grey core, gritty temper with white inclusions.

When the Mexican archaeology collection was re-packed for storage in 1985 the objects were assessed by Mary Hill Harris and other museum colleagues, then boxed according to period. This object was packed with Pre-Columbian/Pre-Hispanic and the Period field has now been updated accordingly; the Period field previously read Preclassic; Classic; Postclassic.
