Description
Incomplete Kechipauan Glaze Polychrome jar; eight rim sherds present. With rounded body, upright neck and simple rim; the interior is painted white with red rim and the exterior a pale orange; it is decorated with red and black bands around the neck and crosses and triangles filled with lines and dotted lines.

Unknown hand added the following in pencil to the catalogue card: 'see Z 43432'. Upon visual inspection, the two sherds marked Z 43432 [E] are similar to 1924.482 C, with the same decoration. However, they do not fit together, so the decision was made to retain them in their Z number.

When the Kechib:wa collection was packed for storage in c 1986 the pottery was assessed by museum staff and boxed according to type. These sherds were packed with Kechipauan glaze polychrome material, which has now been added to the Description field.
