Description
One hemispherical bowl of calcareous light grey clay with dark grey core and Kechipauan Polychrome decoration. Slightly inturned rim with rounded lip; hemispherical body with rounded base. Interior and exterior surface finished with matte white slip; on the interior a painted band incorporating opposed pairs of regularly spaced stepped motifs in orange red and reddish brown; band is bordered top and bottom by a single reddish brown line. Exterior with one horizontally painted W-shaped double line in reddish brown, otherwise undecorated. Reconstructed from sherds with one piece missing at rim and intentional central hole at the base, possibly a 'kill hole'.
