Description

Gila polychrome hemispherical bowl, of red slip with black and white geometric decoration. Rounded base and flat rim, slightly inturned; the interior centre is decorated with a black star with central dot and triangular points on white; with bands of black triangles with dots. The exterior has a band of black triangles and zigzags with dots on white, with red on the rim and base of the bowl. Small section of rim and wall missing.

Ashes were found in 1924.404 A, which was covered by 1924.404 B. Cremation 245, Trench V. Depth 4' 6". Excavated by Samuel K. Lothrop, Museum of the American Indian, and Louis Clarke, Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, as part of the Louis C.G. Clarke Kechipauan Expedition, 19 June – 1 September 1923.
