1924.446 B

Description

Large hemispherical matsaki polychrome bowl with orange slip and brown and red pigment decoration. Three sets of two parallel and horizontal lines, in brown, evenly spaced around outer rim; interior base is painted with geometric designs including banded decoration and triangles. It is not possible to distinguish specific designs due to salt efflorescence and patches of black on walls, likely caused by exposure to heat or fire. Rounded upright rim, rounded body bulges out slightly from rim and flows into rounded base. Object reconstructed from sherds, some sherds missing.
