Description (Physical description)
Eleven pieces of wood with evidence of charring, possibly fire starting tools. One long stick with circular cross-section, both ends shaped to a rounded point and with charring from the middle towards one end [.11]; three lengths with circular cross-section and a rounded tip with evidence of charring [.12-14]; three pieces with one end pointed and the other possibly shaped or thinned [.15-17]; four pieces of irregular shape with charring in one or more places [.18-21].

Context (Amendments / updates)
This collection was tentatively entered as being collected by James Mann Wordie in 1938 but has now been identified as from the excavations undertaken by Richard Feachem during the 1938 Cambridge West Greenland Expedition. Feachem excavated several sites on Illorsuit [Ubekendt] Island, including Sarqa, Naqerdloq, Kussininguaq and Igdlorssuit, which are recorded in his excavation notebooks (XA/1/25/5 and XA/1/33). More work is required in order to identify which of these sites this object comes from.
