Description

Headdress, part of a dance costume used in ceremonies; made from multicoloured feathers. Structural composition of hollow shaft feathers from multiple birds attached with stitches at the base to a wooden frame. Four wooden spikes go down from the structure. The base of front of the head ornament is decorated with white and red possibly down toucan feathers; a layer of semiplume white feathers followed by long feathers. The back of the head ornament has layers of light pink short feathers with a read and a blue feather at the centre; four long possibly Macao feathers.

Description (Physical description)
These objects, not including the box, are made of layers of different coloured and different lengths feathers, including white feathers which are mainly skeletal now, which are attached to plant fibre plaited rope or string. The bands where the feathers are attached are decorated with small feathers which are either primarily yellow, or primarily red depending on the piece. D is missing its basketry base, and is only the feather decoration of the headdress.
