Description

Two seal impressions of wax. One impression (.13), is circular in red wax and is the seal of B.C. du Mortier. At the centre there are two dragons either side of a coat of arms with a helmet above; a beaded band separates the central motifs from the inscription 'V Mortier S Barth Do', which runs around the outer edge. The other impression (.14) is oval in black wax and is the seal of W.S. Grey. At the centre, the Grey family crest consists of a coat of arms showing a standing lion with foliate motifs above and either side; a raised band separates the central motifs from the inscription 'De bon vouloir servir le roi', which runs around the outer edge.
