Context (References)
The Annual report of 27th November 1947 states the Mackintosh Collection was 'formed by the late Mr Leslie Mackintosh (formally a member of Gonville and Caius College) has been given to the Museum by his sister, Miss R. Mackintosh'.

Context (Amendments / updates)
The Source field previously stated 'Mackintosh.Miss.H.J.'. It is unclear who 'Miss H.J. Mackintosh' was. The object was part of the collection of Mr Leslie Mackintosh and given to the Museum by his sister, Miss Ruth Mackintosh, see the Related documents regarding collector and donor. The Accession Register actually notes the objects were gifted by 'Miss J. Mackintosh'. At present therefore 'Mackintosh.Miss.H.J.' has been removed. If they are identified, update this record accordingly.

Context (Amendments / updates)
Whilst the note on the back of the frame notes the date September 1921 it is noted in Mackintosh's catalogue that he purchased these in 1920. It is possible that the later date is when they were framed together or when they arrived in England but at present the meaning behind the two dates is unclear.
