Description
Pair of boots, with possibly detachable fur lined leggings or stockings. Knee-high boots with shaft of brown dehaired seal skin; V-shaped top edge at the front; sole of dark brown skin, possibly bearded seal, moulded around the foot and gathered where it joins the upper; upper, leg, and top edge decorated with strips of white seal skin; white hair around opening, likely arctic fox; stockings of seal skin with fur inside, trimmed with white hair, likely arctic fox; leather thongs hang from top of each boot.

C and D: Pair of tall leather boots, fur lined. The top of the boot is decorated with white fur, while the inside of the boot is lined with dark brown/black fur. There is white/light coloured leather trim along the front seam of the leg and around the leg opening, as well as just above the sole of the boot.

Description by Judy Hall: 'Boots and stockings, one pair. Boots extend to knee with back higher than front and V-shaped front edge. Each is made from dehaired sealskin. A single piece of dark brown sealskin (bearded - see original catalogue card) forms the sole which is turned over the sides and crimped around the heel and above the toes. 4 ridges of white dehaired sealskin are inserted into the seam between the sole and upper foot; a narrow strip of dark brown dehaired sealskin is inserted through the centre. Leg section and upper foot are made from three pieces of dehaired sealskin on C and 4 pieces on D. Vertical seam down front of leg is overlaid with a narrow strip of white dehaired seal skin; upper edge is decorated with two parallel bands of white dehaired sealskin. 5 fringes of white dehaired sealskin are inserted into seam around upper edge (2 missing on D). Band of white fox? fur is sewn around upper edge. Dehaired white sealskin thong is sewn to interior of upper edge on D only. Stockings are made from sealskin with the fur to the interior. Upper edge is overlaid with a strip of white fox? fur which extends above the boot. Structural sewing is with sinew and thread.'
