Context (Amendments / updates)
The excavation number 4881 is noted in the site report's distribution list as being 'Res.'. This refers to its status as being kept in reserve at University College, London [see Brunton, vol II, p. 22]. It was here that Beck studied those beads not distributed. It is therefore possible that this bead came to MAA via the Beck Collection. As there is no Beck label/number it is hard to prove this. Therefore he is only tentatively added to the source field alongside the known excavator of the site, Guy Brunton.
