Context (Acquisition Details)
The Moyne collection arrived at MAA in 1938, after being displayed in London from 19 May to 1 June. Richard Feachem organised and partially accessioned the collection in 1946; the remainder was registered in 1981 and 1995. See archive (FA2/3/6, Doc.68, Doc.467 and Doc.470).

Description (Physical description)
Vertical, elongated, zoomorphic adorno sherd representing the full body of an animal, possibly a frog. Triangular head with nose that comes to a blunt point; applied pellet on either side of the head that projects upwards and has been deeply punctated, representing eyes; two punctations with deeply incised line or groove underneath them on either side of the body just below the head; applied strips of clay under this that come out from the front of the body slightly representing limbs; one deep punctation between the incised line and the limb; strips have been incised; one deep punctation on each side of the body towards the base; wide incised line just before the base; curved up at the base with deeply punctated hole through the bottom.
