Description

Vertical, elongated, zoomorphic adorno sherd representing the full body of an animal. Protruding head that is flat on top with two modelled ears and possibly horns sticking up, each with a central punctation; six punctations on the front of the head; two applied, protruding fillets on either side of the head which have two punctations; two punctations in the centre of the body with curved incised line connecting them; wide incised lines down the body towards where it would connect to the vessel wall. Two punctations just before the base. Curved up at the base with pierced hole through the bottom; hollow interior.

Original description for Z 35297 A-AM: 'Lugs of various forms, whole-body of human/lizard type with pronounced hole at bottom in most cases. a-g have pointed faces, two applied eye-holes each side. h-o have one or two eye holes either side, filleted decoration at sides of body. p-af are simpler versions of type. ag-ai are versions with more holes and protruberances. aj possibly represents different animal: has vertical mouth. ak is very stylized, small, with form represented only by punctate dots. al and am are small, very simply modelled versions'.
