Z 32984 - Z 32986 were found together in a drawer in G.H.S. Bushnell's teaching cabinet, likely in 1981. They were packed in a box from a shop in Buenos Aires, with an Argentinian stamp, posted to Dr Jorge Arganaras, Dentista, Libertad 657, Santiago del Estero. On the bottom of the box (really the top of another box) was written 'El Lazaro (Dos [illegible]), Robles, 1929.

Z 32984 - Z 32986 were found together in a drawer in G.H.S. Bushnell's teaching cabinet, packed in a box from a shop in Buenos Aires posted to Dr Jorge Arganaras, Dentista, Santiago del Estero. When they were catalogued in 1981, they were therefore tentatively listed as from El Estero, Argentina. It was also noted that the bones had been identified at some stage and were marked with numbers in triangles, and some also with 'cave'. These markings correspond to the stratified layers (1 - 12) in the rock shelter of Laguna Hedionda, Bolivia, designated as Site IV by Lawrence Barfield when he excavated it as part of the Cambridge Atacama Desert Expedition in 1958. In his report ('Recent Discoveries in the Atacama Desert and the Bolivian Altiplano', 1961) he describes finding 'animal bones represented wild species of the llama family, rodents and birds' (p. 98). It seems that Z 32984 - Z 32986 are the animal bones found during this excavation, which were likely set aside for identification. They are now bagged in modern finds bags with the identification written on them; this is likely a transcription of the earlier identification. The Source, Place and Field Collection information has now been updated accordingly.
