Large shell adze made from the columella of a queen conch (Strombus gigas). Curved cutting edge, ground and bevelled on one face; butt end incorporates the siphonal canal. Surface is heavily marked.

Context (Amendments / updates)
Previously, the Place field included Maxwell on the basis of a note that is not now present. Also, the objects from that site are usually marked with that information, and these are not. Therefore, Maxwell has been removed from the place field. Feilden has been marked tentatively as the source because though with a loose label referring to the Feilden collection and other Feilden objects, they have no distinguishing markings, so it is possible but it may be from another collector of similar material.
