Description
Phulkari. Curtain of brown woven cloth embroidered with yellow geometric motifs. Rectangular panel made up from multiple pieces sewn together; repeating lozenge or diamond motif with triangle patterned bands along top and bottom; lined along the top and bottom with lengths of brown fabric, the bottom embroidered with coloured flowers. Significant wear to embroidery especially along one edge; one area of contrasting colour embroidery in top corner, possibly a contemporary repair; one of four curtains, 1988.421 A-D.
