Description
Brown wax seal impression of a seal matrix with a circular face. The central design depicts a masted ship with arms depicted on the sail: 1 and 4 three fleurs-de-lys two and one, and 2 and 3 three lions rampant guardant. An English flag flies on the left, and on the right a flag with the arms of Great Yarmouth. the inscription is separated from the central design by a plain groove. The inscription reads 'ihc * sigillum * officii * balliorum * ville * magne * jernemuth' ('Jesus Christ * the seal of the office of the bailifs of Great Yarmouth'). The impression is mounted on paper.
